HONESDALE — The following cases were addressed this week by Raymond L. Hamill, President Judge of Wayne County:

Tyrone David Lewis, aka Biggie Blackwood, age 37 of Equinunk, PA was sentenced to a State Correctional Institution for a period of not less than 3 years nor more than 6 years for one count of Deliver a Controlled Substance, an ungraded Felony.  He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, pay a fine in the amount of $10,000 and submit to the drawing of a DNA sample and pay $250 for the cost of the sample.  The incident occurred on March 17, 2011, in Manchester Township when Lewis sold Cocaine to a confidential informant.  

Allan Edward Batzel, age 24 of Lake Ariel, PA was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 5 days nor more than 6 months for one count of DUI or Controlled Substance, an ungraded Misdemeanor.  He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, pay a fine in the amount of $300, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, obtain full time employment and perform 50 hours of community service.  The incident occurred on October 30, 2010, in Salem Township.  His BAC was .145%.  
Michael Cardozza, JR. age 24 of Pocono Lake, PA was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 15 days nor more than 18 months for one count of Theft By Unlawful Taking or Disposition, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 2nd Degree.  He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, pay restitution in the amount of $274.85, pay $300 for the cost of the public defender, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, attend a minimum of 1 AA meeting per week and obtain full time employment upon being released from prison. The incident occurred between November 17, 2010 and December 18, 2010, in Lehigh Township made several purchases with a credit card that he was not authorized to use.

Luisa Sciarrino, age 28 of Hawley, PA was placed on probation for a period of 1 year for one count of Possession of Controlled Substance, an ungraded Misdemeanor.
She was also ordered to pay all Court costs, pay a fine in the amount of $300, continue with drug and alcohol treatment, obtain part time employment and perform 50 hours of community service.  The incident occurred on March 8, 2011, in Palmyra Township when Sciarrino was discovered to be in possession of Heroin.  

Randy Greenfield, age 26 of Scranton, PA was placed on probation for a period of 24 months for one count of Retail Theft-Take Merchandise, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 1st Degree.  He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, pay restitution in the amount of $569.91, pay $300 for the cost of the public defender, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, obtain full time employment upon being released from prison, perform 40 hours of community service and attend a minimum of 1 AA meeting per week.  
The incident occurred on September 6, 2010, in Texas Township when Greenfield stole numerous electronic items from a local department store.

Joshua Scott Pohle, age 28 of Lake Ariel, PA was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 3 months nor more than 12 months for one count of Unsworn Falsification to Authorities, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 2nd Degree and one count of Harassment-Strike, Shove, Kick, graded as a Summary offense.  He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, pay a fine in the amount of $150 pay restitution in the amount of $831.62, have no contact with the victim in this matter, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, complete an anger management program, obtain full time employment upon being released from prison and attend a minimum of 1 AA meeting per week.  The incident occurred on May 7, 2011, in Dreher Township.  

Larry J. Roberts, age 38 of Simpson, PA was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of 90 days for one count of Driving While Operating Privilege Suspend/Revoked, one count of Accidents Involving Damage to Unattended Veh/Property and one count of Immediate Notice of Accident to Police Department, all graded as Summary offenses.  He was also ordered to pay all Court costs and pay a fine in the amount of $800. The incident occurred on June 10, 2011, in Canaan Township when Pennsylvania State Police were called to investigate the report of a one vehicle crash.  

Michael Alexander Carlson, age 22 of Honedale, PA was placed on probation for a period of 2 years for one count of Disorderly Conduct-Hazardous/Offensive Cond, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 3rd Degree and one count of Disorderly Conduct Engage in Fight, also graded as Misdemeanor of the 3rd Degree.  He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, pay $300 for the cost of the public defender, continue with drug and alcohol treatment and continue with mental health treatment.
The first incident occurred on December 23, 2010, in Texas Township when Carlson continually screamed and pounded on the door of a private residence.  The second incident occurred on February 25, 2011, in Texas Township when Carlson became involved in an altercation with a male victim.   

Byron Carlos Klinger, age 39 of Honesdale, PA was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 3 days nor more than 6 months for one count of DUI-Highest Rate, an ungraded Misdemeanor.  He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, pay a fine in the amount of $1,000, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, attend and complete an alcohol highway safety program, perform 50 hours of community service and attend a minimum of 2 AA meetings per week.  The incident occurred on June 26, 2011, in Honesdale Borough when Honesdale Borough Police observed Klinger speeding.  His BAC was .175%.

Bryan Thomas Engvaldsen, age 39 of Hawley, PA was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of 6 months related to DUI. He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, perform 40 hours of community service, attend and complete an alcohol highway safety program and have his operator’s license suspended for a period of 60 days.  The incident occurred on August 12, 2011, in Hawley Borough when Hawley Borough Police observed Engvaldsen traveling at a high rate of speed.  His BAC was .188%.

Michael Definis, age 48 of Stirling, NJ plead guilty to one count of Bad Checks, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 1st Degree.  The incident occurred on June 30, 2011in Palmrya Township when DeFinis passed a check written on a closed account.  He is scheduled to be sentenced on March 15, 2012.  

Felicia Prohidney, age 34 of Honesdale, PA pled guilty to one count of Receiving Stolen Property, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 1st Degree.  The incident occurred on October 18, 2011, in Honesdale, Borough when Prohidney received jewelry knowing that it had been stolen.  She is scheduled to be sentenced on April 12, 2012.
