Among 22 criminal cases scheduled for the January trial term is that of Commonwealth vs. John J. Visci.
Visci was extradited to Wayne County from California in April of 2008, wanted for the theft of approximately $29,000 from American Legion Post 254 in Honesdale. He is also charged in a separate complaint with the theft of $1,000 from the Wayne County Veteran’s Center. Visci was the Post’s Financial Officer at the time of the theft. Honesdale Police issued the warrant on December 14, 2007.
One count of forgery has been dismissed. Visci is representing himself at trial.
Jury selection in Wayne County Court begins Monday morning, January 20. Typically, the trial list is shortened, when cases are continued or trials are circumvented by late-minute plea bargains.
