The following defendants entered guilty pleas Thursday to Wayne County Prison. The Honorable Judge Raymond L. Hamill presided in Wayne County Court.
• Amy Lynn Baehr, age 39 of Honesdale pled guilty to one count of DUI-Highest Rate, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 1st degree. The incident occurred on September 13, 2008, in Texas Township when Pennsylvania State Police observed Baehr traveling south in the northbound lane on Cadjaw Pond Road. Her BAC was .300%.
• Hank Degraw Jr., age 18 of Honesdale pled guilty, in six separate cases, to one count of Receiving Stolen Property, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 2nd degree, one count of Resisting Arrest or Other Law Enforcement, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 2nd degree, one count of Criminal Conspiracy, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 3rd degree, two counts of Receiving Stolen Property, graded as a Misdemeanors of the 1st Degree, and one count of Retail Theft-Take Merchandise, graded as a Summary offense.
These incidents occurred between October 31, 2008, and December 9, 2008, in Honesdale Borough when DeGraw stole several items from local businesses, homes, and vehicles. He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 16, 2009.
• Kenneth John Shaffer, age 33 of Honesdale pled guilty, three separate cases to one count of Burglary, graded as a Felony of the 1st degree, one count of Theft By Unlawful Taking or Disposition, graded as a Felony of the 3 Degree, and one count of Theft By Unlawful Taking or Disposition, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 1st degree.
These incidents occurred between September 8, 2008, and September 22, 2008, in South Canaan and Cherry Ridge Townships when Shaffer entered three separate residences and removed money. He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 30, 2009.
• John Herbert Rice, age 47 of Honesdale pled guilty to one count of Theft By Unlawful Taking or Disposition, graded as a Felony of the 3rd degree. The incident between July 21, 2006, and July 31, 2006, in Palmyra Township when Rice removed a tractor and wood splitter from a private residence. He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 30, 2009.
• Thomas Vincent Riggio, age 23 of Honesdale pled guilty to one count of DUI, an ungraded Misdemeanor. The incident occurred on August 31, 2008, in Berlin Township when Pennsylvania State Police observed Riggio traveling at a high rate of speed. His BAC was .144%. He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 9, 2009.
• Kevin Scott Allen, age 40, of Hawley pled guilty to one count of Theft By Deception-False Impression, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 1st degree. The incident occurred between April 10, 2008, and May 13, 2008, in Hawley Borough and Palmyra Township when passed several checks, to two local businesses, knowing they would not be honored. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 7, 2009.
• Danny L. Butts, age 36, of Deposit, NY pled guilty to one count of Theft By Unlawful Taking or Disposition, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 1st degree. The incident occurred on September 22, 2008, in Scott Township when removed several items from a private residence. He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 30, 2009.
• Jessica R. Schotter, age 26 of Tobyhanna pled guilty to one count of Criminal Conspiracy-Engaging Armed Robbery, graded as a Felony of the 1st degree.
The incident occurred on March 29, 2008, in Dreher Township when Schotter and a co- defendant robbed a local business. She is scheduled to be sentenced on April 30, 2009.
• Jason Glenn Wilmot, age 31 of Moscow pled guilty to one count of Theft By Unlawful Taking or Disposition, graded as a Felony of the 2nd degree. The incident occurred between December 1, 2007, and May 9, 2008, in Cherry Ridge Township when Wilmot removed several guns from a private residence. He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 16, 2009.
• James Peter Bassani, age 23 of Honesdale pled guilty to one count of Sell/Furnish Liquor, Malt, Brewed Beverage to Minors, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 3rd degree. The incident occurred on October 8, 2008, in Honesdale Borough when Bassani provided alcohol to several minors. He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 16, 2009.
• Mark Pierce Reimann, age 18 of Hamlin pled guilty to one count of Possess Small Amount-Marijuana and one count of Possession or Drug Paraphernalia, both ungraded Misdemeanors. The incident occurred on August 3, 2008, in Lake Township when Pennsylvania State Police found Reimann to be in possession of Marijuana. He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 9, 2009.
• Christopher McCormick, age 30 of Dickson City pled guilty to one count of Institutional Vandalism, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 2nd degree. The incident occurred on October 18, 2008, in Canaan Township when McCormick punched a window, at the Wayne County Correctional Facility, causing it to break. He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 30, 2009.
• Brandon Irwin, age 20 of Thompson pled guilty to one count of Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 2nd degree, one count of Recklessly Endangering Another Person, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 2nd degree, and one count of Purchase, Consumption, Possession or Transport, graded as a Summary offense. The incident occurred on October 13, 2008, in Honesdale Borough when Honesdale Borough Police observed Irwin traveling without a license plate light.
The Honesdale Borough Police chased Irwin for approximately four miles at high rates of speed. Irwin failed to stop the vehicle despite several verbal warnings. He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 30, 2009.
• Justin Michael Miller, age 18 of Tucson, AZ pled guilty to one count of Theft From A Motor Vehicle, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 2nd degree and one count of Loitering and Prowling at Nighttime, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 3 Degree. The incident occurred on November 15, 2008, in Honesdale Borough when Honesdale when Miller broke into a vehicle and removed several items. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 7, 2009.
• Carol Anne Laabs, age 42 of Lake Ariel pled guilty to one count of Possession of Controlled Substance, an ungraded Misdemeanor and one count of Theft By Unlawful Taking or Disposition, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 2nd degree. The incident occurred between October 19, 2008, and October 25, 2008, in Palmyra Township when Laabs stole Darvocet while employed at a local pharmacy. She is scheduled to be sentenced on April 16, 2009.
