Wayne County Commissioners received a municipal notice Tuesday from Herbert, Rowland and Grubic, Inc. (HRG), concerning a proposed exploration gas well in western Lebanon Township.
The engineering firm is applying for an Erosion and Sediment Control General Permit for earth disturbance associated with Oil and Gas Exploration from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). Stone Energy Corporation, Morgantown, WV, is listed as the applicant contact.

Identified as the “Pitcairn Well Site,” the project involves a 594.75-acre site located east of Turner Road and approximately 1500 feet south of Dixon Valley Road in Lebanon Township.
Construction plans include a 7,500 foot access road, 120,000 square-foot seeded pad, a frac pond and 22,500 square-foot gravel well pad.

Commissioners have 30 days to submit any comments on the proposed project to DEP.
