Back by popular demand, the Doo-Wop Car Show is returning to Bethel Woods, and this year it's being paired with the show from the same era - the New York Doo-Wop Extravaganza. On Saturday, July 9 from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., car-lovers can appreciate cars from the century and then catch music from the '50s and '60s on the center stage at 7:00 p.m.
General admission to the car show is $5.00 per person or $10.00 per family and can be purchased at the gate the day of the event. All car show ticketholders will receive a $5.00 off coupon towards the purchase of New York Doo-Wop Extravaganza tickets purchased that day. Prior sales excluded.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Town of Bethel Faith Ministries which supplies the Shepherds Pantry, The Senior Luncheon and children programs like The Adventure Club. The Shepherds Pantry provides for approximately 310 families who reside in the town of Bethel and the Senior Luncheon averages 40 seniors benefiting monthly.
Attendees will enjoy pre-concert refreshments and entertainment provided by Classic Hits 105 and Thunder 102, media sponsors of the event. Car entrants are being solicited and those interested can call 845-252-3030 to register in advance. There is no entry fee for vehicles built between 1900 -1986, and awards will be given for best show and people's choice.
The New York Doo-Wop Extravaganza concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. that evening and will feature an appearance of the Original Brooklyn Reunion starring THE MYSTICS "Hushabye," THE PASSIONS "Just To Be With You," THE CLASSICS "Till Then," Buddy Holly's Original CRICKETS "Peggy Sue Got Married," "That'll Be The Day," Charlie Thomas & THE DRIFTERS "Under The Boardwalk," KENNY VANCE & THE PLANOTONES "Looking For An Echo," THE ORIGINAL CHANTELS "Maybe" and THE FIREFLIES "You Were Mine."
Ticket prices for the New York Doo-Wop Show are $60.00, $45.00, $40.00, $25.00 for reserved seating, $19.50 for lawn seating, and are on-sale now at www.BethelWoodsCenter.org, the Bethel Woods Box Office or by phone at 1-800-745-3000.
