POYNTELLE — A Sunday night fire on the shores of Lake Lorain completely destroyed the Water’s Edge restaurant at the Lake Lorain Golf Course.
When the Northern Wayne Fire company was toned out at about 8 p.m., says Chief Scott Anderson, the building was already fully involved.
“The roof was already on the ground when we pulled in,” Anderson said.
Northern Wayne, Pleasant Mount, Uniondale, Thompson and Clifford fire crews responded to the call, battling the blaze for about four hours in zero degree weather conditions. No injuries were reported.
The Pennsylvania State Police Troop R Fire Marshal Unit is investigating the cause of the blaze.
According to Fire Marshal Unit Trooper John Chervanka, a cause for the fire may never be determined, due to the extent of the damage.
