On May 7 at 11:39 p.m. officers of The Honesdale Borough Police Department responded to 107 Linwood Street for the report of a disturbance. Officers determined that a resident of the location, Richard Slockbower, 39, and a friend of the family, Thomas Charette, 18, of White Mills, had been involved in a verbal confrontation that led into a physical altercation outside the residence.
Slockbower had what appeared to be fresh injuries about his face and body and he related that his two front teeth had been knocked out. An ambulance was requested and Slockbower was transported to the Wayne Memorial Hospital. Charette was interviewed shortly thereafter and officers observed that Charette had sustained a cut on his right hand due to the fight. Charges of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct were filed at the office of Magistrate Snyder on both Slockbower and Charette.
