Crash sends dump truck driver to hospital

DRIVER TAKEN TO HOSPITAL—Sixty-seven-year-old William Johannes of Honesdale was taken to the hospital following a one-car crash on Terrace Street, Friday. Honesdale Borough Police say it appeared he was affected by a medical condition prior to the crash.

A Honesdale man was taken the hospital Friday afternoon following a one-car cash in Honesdale.
 Sixty-seven-year-old William Johannes was operating a 1982 Ford Dump truck on Terrace Street when he went off the roadway and struck an embankment.


Honesdale Borough Police say it appeared Johannes was affected by a medical condition prior to the crash. He was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital by Honesdale EMS. 


The crash occurred at 12:59 p.m. Terrace Street was shut down for over an hour.
Assisting police at the scene were Honesdale Fire Department, Honesdale Fire Police, and Honesdale EMS.


Northeast Towing responded, towing the vehicle from the scene.
