Among actions taken by the Wayne County Commissioners, Thursday, was awarding a certificate to an Eagle Scout.
Ron Scubic, scoutmaster at Pleasant Mount, requested the certificate for Scout Wade Malicky. The new Eagle Scout will be honored at his “Court of Honor” in late February.
• Danniele Hafler of Honesdale was approved for hire as a Caseworker-II in Wayne County Children & Youth (C&Y), filling a vacancy. Hafler served as an intern for Wayne County C&Y during college. She had since found a job with Monroe County C&Y. Commissioner Wendell Kay indicated he had been impressed with Hafler while working here as an intern. Her position is effective January 26.
• Linda Vogt sent a letter announcing her retirement from Wayne County Area Agency on Aging. This is effective April 23rd. She has worked for the County nearly 40 years. “She is an outstanding County employee and a great person,” noted Commissioner Anthony Herzog.
