Any phone calls from individuals claiming to be census takers who are requesting such information should be ignored and no personal information given out. The Census Bureau DOES NOT make these types of phone calls. Please be very cautious. Census Bureau personnel that come to your door should have an official Identification. Pfease request to see that identification prior to releasing any of your information to any individual coming to your door. They will not ask for any birthdates, Social Security numbers, banking information and you should not give them any.
If you have any questions about the process call The Census office in Scranton at (570)903-6000.
