The following cases were addressed Thursday by the Honorable Robert J. Conway, Senior Judge, Specially Presiding, Wayne County:
•RYSZARD OKULA, age 59 of Brooklyn, NY pled guilty to one count of Simple Assault, and one count of Resisting Arrest or Other Law Enforcement, both graded as Misdemeanors of the 2 Degree. The incident occurred on March 8, 2008, in Dreher Township when Okula punched a Pennsylvania State Trooper in the neck. He is scheduled to be sentenced on October 2, 2008.
•DAVID JOHN ELDRED, age 24 of Hawley, PA pled guilty, in two separate cases, to one count of DUI-Highest Rate, an ungraded Misdemeanor and one count of DUI-Highest Rate, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 1 Degree. The first incident occurred on 3/8/2008 in Berlin Township when Pennsylvania State Police observed Eldred speeding. His BAC was .212%. The second incident occurred on April 28, 2008 in Hawley Borough when Pennsylvania State Police were called to investigate the report of a one vehicle crash. His BAC was .209%. He is scheduled to be sentenced on October 9, 2008.
•EDWARD J. GUASCHINO, age 33 of Hamlin, PA was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of 6 months related to DUI. He was also ordered to perform 40 hours of community service, have his operator’s license suspended for a period of 60 days, and attend and complete an Alcohol Highway Safety Program. At that time Guashcino also plead guilty to one count of Operation of Vehicle w/o Official Certificate of Inspection, one count of Accident Involving Damage to Unattended Veh/Property and one count of Duty to Give Information and Render Aid all graded as Summary offenses. The incident occurred on March 14, 2008, in Salem Township when Pennsylvania State Police observed Guaschino cross the double yellow line several times.
•CHARLES EDWARD MISZLER, age 26 of Paupack, PA was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of 6 months related to DUI. He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, perform 40 hours of community service, have his operator’s license suspended for a period of 30 days, and attend an Alcohol Highway Safety Program. The incident occurred on March 30, 2008, in Texas Township when Pennsylvania State Police observed Miszler fail to dim his headlights. His BAC was .15%.
•TASHA PENN, age 28 of Honesdale, PA was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of 6 months related to DUI. She was also ordered to pay all Court costs, perform 40 hours of community service, attend an Alcohol Highway Safety Program, and have her operator’s license suspended for a period of 60 days.
The incident occurred on April 20, 2008, in Berlin Township when Pennsylvania State Police were called to investigate the report of a one vehicle crash. Her BAC was .18%.
