On Feb. 12, the Wayne County Arts Alliance will present “No Man’s Land,” a grim tale of the futility and absurdity of war, as the latest entry in its winter film series. Set in Bosnia Herzegovina during the civil war, this 2001 production tells the story of two soldiers, one Bosnian and one Serb, trapped in the no man’s land between the warring sides. The soldiers vie for advantage over one another and a third solder, a human booby trap, adds to the horror of the situation. “No Man’s Land,” which won an Oscar in 2002 for Best Foreign Language Film, is 98 minutes long and is rated R.
Sunday Night Cinema showings are at 8:15 p.m. at the Cinema 6 in the Route 6 Mall in Honesdale. A donation of $5.00 per person is suggested, to help support the activities of the Arts Alliance. The film is preceded by a short introduction and followed by a discussion. For more information, contact the Arts Alliance at 570-390-4420, or visit waynecountyartsalliance.org.
