It’s the second bank robbery in six days in neighboring Callicoon, NY. The latest victim, the First National Bank of Jeffersonville (Jeff Bank), State Route 17B, was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon, around 4:45 p.m.
According to New York State Police (NYSP), a man wearing a ski mask entered the bank, displayed a handgun, then fled after obtaining an unknown amount of cash.
Lt. Brian Shortall, NYSP at Middletown, said a female clerk was taken to the hospital as a result of the robbery, complaining of being generally ill.
Bank employees described the get-away car as a light blue, older model Pontiac Grand Am or Grand Prix with a plastic bag over the license plate. The vehicle was last seen traveling east on Route 17B.
If you have any information concerning this incident, you’re asked to contact State Police at Liberty at (845) 292-6600.
Friday’s robbery at the Bank of America in Callicoon ended in the same-day arrest of two Connecticut men: 58-year-olds John Ryan and Scott Butterworth. They’re charged with felony robbery and grand larceny.
The two robberies occurred within a half of a mile of each other.
