Unrelenting property thefts persisted throughout Wayne County in October, state police Honesdale barracks reported.
Residents of Damascus, Lake, Preston, and Texas townships reported valuables lifted from their properties with no suspects apprehended as of yet in the following cases as state police further their investigations.
In Damascus Township, someone broke into a garage located along the Delaware River, near Narrowsburg, between October 12 and October 14. Once inside the garage, the thief snatched an outboard-boat motor, a weed whacker, a chain saw, a leaf blower, two-hedge cutters, and two-wooden-canoe paddles.
In Lake Township, a Cove Point Lane property owner has reported numerous thefts. The latest, which occurred between October 21 and October 22, involved a thief entering an unlocked Subaru parked in the driveway. The scofflaw took a GPS unit from inside the vehicle, then fled in an unknown direction.
In Preston Township, someone said they would repair their neighbor’s ATV, but after the neighbor paid - the ATV was never returned. The victims live on Creamton Road.
Theft charges are pending upon a further state police investigation.
In Texas Township, someone stole a mountain bike from a White Mills residence, between October 28 and October 30.
And in Dingman Township, Pike County, a thief entered an unlocked vehicle - that was parked on Sunnyland Road - and stole a digital-music player, a satellite radio, and a GPS unit.
