Bars checked for age compliance

 The Pa. State Police Bureau of Liquor Enforcement conducted age compliance checks at licensed establishments in Wayne County, last Friday. Five licensed establishments were checked, and two of these were found to be noncompliant in that they served the underage buyer alcoholic beverages.
The age compliance checks consist of supervised underage buyers in an attempt to purchase alcoholic beverages.
Those premises that were in compliance, and did NOT serve alcohol to the underage buyer, were: The Dutchman (BT Enterprises Inc.) of Gouldsboro; Newfoundland Hotel (Michael Seagraves) of Newfoundland and Hotel Ellendale (Hotel Ellendale Corp.) of South Sterling.
Establishments that did not comply with the law were not identified. The checks were done between 6 and 10 p.m.
Public drunkennesss
On Wednesday, Oct. 8, State Police investigated a complaint by a passing motorist that a female was staggering along State Route 191 in Hamlin. This was near Sawmill Road, at 10:45 p.m.
The woman was staggering on the shoulder of the road crossing the fog line and was nearly struck by a vehicle. Trooper Kimes said that Rachel Marie Evans, age 21, of Tobyhanna, appeared “manifestly under the influence of alcohol to the degree she is a danger to herself.” A portable breath test was given and it read .203%.
She cited for public drunkenness., Police transported her to the Honesdale barracks, where she was released to a friend.
Burglary
Trooper John Strelish reported burglaries at Breezewood Acres Campground, Lehigh Township. On September 25th or 26th, three burglaries occurred as unknown person(s) used force to enter campers and sheds.
A large number of items was stolen, including:
ATVs:  a 2008 Kawasaki Mule  (camouflage color), a 2001 Yamaha Big Bear ATV (green), a 2008 Yamaha Grizzly ATV (blue), 2005 Suzuki Eiger ATV; an ATV snow plow, an ATV helmet, ATV ramps, tow chains;
Guns:  1890 Winchester Gallery .22 caliber pistol, a Marlin single shot .22 cal. pistol, a Stoger Coach double barrel 12 gauge shotgun, BB gun,
Tools: power washer, Dewalt hammer drill, Dewalt Sawzall, Dewalt 18 volt drill, rigid air compressor,
Other: five, 5-gallon gas cans, a 2-1/2 gallon air compressor, Kodak digital camera, Nikon binoculars. Bushnell laser range finder and a GPS.
