An all-out search for a missing Staten Island woman continued Wednesday in neighboring, Narrowsburg, New York.
Thirty-six-year-old Gail Greico-Weishoff, who was visiting family in Narrowsburg, was last seen late Wednesday, October 28. Her purse was found near a bench along the Delaware River in Narrowsburg.
Sgt. Robert W. Hafele, New York State Police in Liberty, says they’re using everything at their disposal to try and locate the missing mom, including their Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and New York State Police (NYSP): K9 Units, aviation, and scuba units.
In an update issued Wednesday afternoon, Sgt. Hafele said they’d searched “numerous locations in Narrowsburg ...and points downstream on the Delaware River. The Town of Tusten Highway Department assisted in the investigation with earth moving equipment to move brush along the riverbank on Second Avenue,” he said.
Sgt. Hafele says they’ve also sent investigators to Staten Island.
The National Park Service has been assisting in the search since Saturday. Joe Nicholson, acting chief ranger for the National Park Service, says they’ve searched approximately 15 miles down the river from Narrowsburg to Lackawaxen, while NY State Police has flown overhead, checking from the “Barryville/Shohola Bridge all the way up to the Narrowsburg Bridge. “We’ve had boats out doing shoreline and river checks,” he said, Wednesday. “We don’t have any confirmation that she’s in the water. We’re just doing a thorough search.”
“We are currently exhausting all efforts to locate a missing person,” Nicholson said.
