Pa. State Police report the robbery of a woman in Greentown early Wednesday morning, during which she was tied up and beaten. $10,000 was stolen from her residence.
The 24 year old victim was at her residence in The Escape development, by herself. At 12: 15 midnight she was using her cell phone and was speaking with her fiancé’s cousin. The victim reported that her pit bull terrier began barking.
She then observed two men enter her bedroom.
At this point, the woman related to police that the two actors sprayed pepper mace into her eyes. The victim stated that she was on her bed and the two actors proceeded to flip her over. They then attempted to duct tape her hands behind her back. A struggle commenced and all went to the floor. She was then struck in the head with a crow bar.
The two actors began to kick her all over her body as she lay on the floor. They then began to drag her around the bedroom. According to the victim, one of the intruders asked her where the money was and stated that they would harm her.
Police said that she reported that one of the intruders then proceeded directly to the closet and removed $10,000 in U.S. currency as well as a change bucket which contained about $300.00.
The intruders then fled the residence, about 15 minutes after the ordeal began.
The victim described the intruders as being white males. She said one of the individuals is approximately 6 feet tall and has a heavy build. The other actor was described as being approximately 5'8 and having a husky build. The victim stated that the two were wearing black pull-over sweatshirts, black masks, and black jeans.
After the attack, the victim was transported to Community Medical Center in Scranton for treatment.
