Scott Ashley, owner of the dealership, confirmed Wednesday, Jan. 14, that they were out of business as of the close of the business day. Ashley declined any further comment. Ashley’s is located at 206 Willow Avenue.
Their web site states they are family-owned and opened for business in 1984.
This is the second automobile franchise to close in the Honesdale area in recent months. Owl Chrysler-Jeep Inc. shut down on November 20, 2008. A third franchise, Honesdale Lincoln Mercury Inc. as of January, relinquished their franchise and is staying open to sell used vehicles and service vehicles as “Honesdale Auto Mart.”
