DYBERRY TWP. -

Three farm horses broke loose and began running south on Route 670 in Dyberry Township when two were struck by an oncoming 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, heading north.
Patricia Papocchia, 64, of Bethany, who was driving the Jeep, and her passenger, Al Papocchia, 65, of Bethany, were not injured in the crash, which happened on Saturday, at 9 p.m., according to the state police report.
The three horses escaped a Honesdale horse farm owned by Jane and Jory Waters.
One horse was immediately killed, and the second horse suffered non-critical injuries.
State police corralled the two surviving horses until the owners arrived.
Route 670 was shut down for about an hour-and-a-half while the scene was cleared.
