PALMYRA TWP. (Pike) -

State Police determined Tuesday that a suspicious device found at a construction site was full of rocks.
The Pike County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad was contacted and responded to Drake Plaza on Route 507, where a construction worker had found the device at 10:15 a.m. It was approximately 12 to 15 inches long and one and a half to two inches in diameter- roughly the size of a paper towel roll. It was wrapped with both blue and black electrical tape.
The Bomb Squad evaluated the situation and used their PAN disrupter to render the device safe. “It was found to be full of rocks,” said Cpl. Brian Vennie. “The device was designed to look like an improvised explosive device.”
State Police terminated the investigation as the last known resident of the property, a tenant, is deceased, said Cpl. Vennie.
