Disturbance at campground checked

Pa. State Police, Honesdale, responded to a campground in northern Wayne County over Labor Day Weekend, for a disturbance.
Taken into custody Sunday was John McCormack, 51, of Landing, NJ,  who was reported to be disorderly and being confrontational with campers. The incident was at Soaring Eagle Campground in Manchester Township.
Upon arrival at 5:30 p.m., McCormack was found exhibiting a strong odor of alcoholic beverage and was incoherent, said Trooper Michael Jazercak. Upon speaking with McCormack, police learned that he was need of medical help due to being severely intoxicated. While being treated he became confrontational with Damascus EMS members and troopers.
McCormack was subdued with a Taser (E.I.D. electronic incapacitative device) and transported to Marion Community Hospital for treatment. Charges of Disorderly Conduct and Public Drunkenness were filed.
• A car rolled over on Route 652, Berlin Township on September 6, said Trooper Michael Turlip. Just after 2 p.m., Edward F. Peterson, 46, of White Mills, was heading west on 652 and failed to negotiate a right hand curve. The 1999 Chevrolet Lumina went off the south berm and struck a dirt embankment, causing the vehicle to roll. Police said that the driver fled from the scene of the crash.
• A 2001 Chevrolet Malibu sedan was scratched while it was parked at the Western Wayne High School parking lot, Saturday, September 5. Cpl. R.H. Marty Robbins stated that the paint was scratched around the entire car. The car was there between 7:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to call the State Police at 253-7126.
