Pa. State Police Fire Marshal Unit, Troop R, reports arresting a Wilkes-Barre man for setting fire to a building in Simpson, June 19th.
Jonathan Ray Riley, 20, of Wilkes-Barre, was arrested November 3rd for two counts of Arson, and one count each of Burglary, Criminal Mischief, Reckless Burning and Criminal Trespass.
At 11:55 p.m., June 19, the fire was discovered burning within a three story structure located at 9 Rittenhouse St., Simpson. An investigation by the Fire Marshal Unit determined that the fire was an arson, and allegedly had been set by Mr. Riley.
• State Police, Honesdale, investigated damage done to mailboxes along J&J Road, Salem Township, over the night of November 2-3. Trooper John Bogarowski asked that anyone with information to call the Honesdale barracks at 253-7126.
• Trooper Bogarowski states that an unknown person damaged a bulb to a street light affixed to a a man’s garage at 249 Silkmans Road, Lake Township. The vandalism occurred on October 30 or 31. Call Honesdale barracks at 253-7126 if you have any information.
• A large number of tools and equipment were stolen from a home construction site at 126 Galahad Drive, Blooming Grove Township, November 4. Trooper Peter Nemshik asked that anyone with information, should call the Blooming Grove barracks at 226-5718.
