The Board of The John and Helen Villaume Foundation announced that the Downtown Hawley Partnership Trail Committee was selected to receive one of the Foundation’s 2018 community grant awards. Grant Genzlinger, on behalf of the Downtown Hawley Partnership Trail Committee, was on hand to receive a check for $10,000.00 from Villaume Foundation board members Rev. William Samford and Dr. Paula Bennett.

The Downtown Hawley Partnership is a non-profit organization comprised of people and businesses working collaboratively to enhance the quality of life in the Wallenpaupack lake region. The organization undertakes activities such as festivals, joint marketing opportunities, street beautification, and the like to make the area warm and welcoming to residents and visitors.

The Villaume grant will be utilized to complete the last critical link connecting the Hawley trail system from The Settlers Inn property to a roadside path along Route 6, including both directional and interpretive signage.
