“Come savor cuisine from around the globe,” says Stephen Moulton of Honesdale Rotary’s International Flavors Dinner. “It’s like having the world on the tip of your fork!”

The Rotary’s biggest annual fundraiser, its International Flavors Dinner, will take place on Saturday, November 3rd at Honesdale High School from 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm. Attendees will enjoy food from Mexico, India, Italy and many more countries cooked up by local restaurants and Rotarians.

The event is co-chaired by Moulton and Andy Lane Chapman, who promise extra surprises this year – including a basket raffle. Both agree the dinner is a great way to taste traditional and exotic fare at a reasonable price. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children. It’s also a great way for Rotarians to share their own “international” story. The local club is part of a global organization that counts more than a million members on all seven continents.

Monies raised help support both international and local projects. In the past few years, Honesdale Rotary has helped Lacawac Sanctuary, the Honesdale River Project, the Wayne County Public Library, local Boy & Girl Scout troops, the Honesdale Borough Pool Renovation Project, the Honesdale Emergency Food Pantry, and international efforts such as contributing to shelter boxes for victims of natural disasters. Honesdale Rotary also supports the Rotary International Student Exchange Program. Members have sent students abroad and hosted students here for decades, and many remain in touch with their international friends.

Honesdale Rotary also raises funds for Rotary International’s program to eradicate polio worldwide. Since 1988, the incidence of polio globally has decreased 99%!

Tickets are available at Wayne Bank, The Dime Bank and Honesdale National Bank or by calling 570-253-8631. They can also be purchased at the door. Visitors are welcome at all meetings, which take place Tuesdays at 12 noon at Cordaro’s Restaurant in Honesdale.
