REGION — Get ready for the most spectacular Independence Day fireworks display EVER SEEN over Lake Wallenpaupack on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. Once again, we honor our past by scheduling the fireworks display for July 4th with a rain date of July 5th.

We are proud to include Bold Gold Media’s Classic Hits 105.3; set to broadcast patriotic music before, during, and after the entire event, from the Wallenpaupack Area High School lot.

You also have the option to tune in on your boat or car radio as well as your smart phone or online.

Lake Wallenpaupack has become known for its annual fireworks display, but this year’s display will far surpass previous years.

After years of dedicated interest and financial commitment from area business owners and residents, the Lake Region of the Pocono Mountains can proudly boast that this is one of the best fireworks displays in the area.

Drawing thousands to our lake region restaurants, merchants, marinas, campgrounds and lodgings, the fireworks have become an important part of our lake culture.

This display is fired near the shores of Lake Wallenpaupack, at Wallenpaupack Area High School, and will begin at approximately 9:30 pm.

Parking will be available in the High School lots, and the bleachers will be open to spectators at approximately 7 pm.

The Middle & Primary School parking lots are also available. Viewing the fireworks will still be available at the dike and by boat on the Lake, as well.

Please note: Specific traffic patterns near the display will be in place to ease congestion thus encouraging safer travel.

We ask that the public please pay close attention to the security personnel directing traffic.

The Wallenpaupack Fireworks are made possible entirely through donations and sponsorship. The Chamber thanks all businesses and residents who have donated in the past.

Major business sponsors to date include (in no particular order) Lake Region IGA, Lake Region Beer Store, Lighthouse Harbor Marina, Davis R. Chant Realtors, The Dime Bank, Sterling Marina, Wayne County Tourism, Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau, Sterling Marina, 1st Klas Marina, Wallenpaupack Marine Trades Association, Gresham’s Chop House, Wayne Bank, Settlers Hospitality, Honesdale National Bank, The Boat Shop, Woodloch Resort, Peoples Security Bank, Bold Gold Media Group, and Encore Outdoor LLC.

We encourage community businesses to support this important annual tradition.

Donations are still needed for the 2018 display and are greatly appreciated. This support adds up and is vital to our fundraising efforts.
