The 2017 Outstanding 4-H Club Treasurer award was presented to Brianna Metschulat, Explorers 4-H Club at the Annual Penn State Extension Volunteer Appreciation Banquet. Brianna received a certificate for her achievement along with a few 4-H gifts. Brianna has been the Explorers 4-H Club Treasurer for 5 years and was also the 2016 Outstanding 4-H Club Treasurer. In order to receive this award, Brianna was in charge of keeping her 4-H Club finances in check while working closely with an adult 4-H leader in the club.

Brianna is also the current Treasurer of the Wayne County 4-H Teen Council group. She has taken a variety of 4-H projects including Market Meat Goats, Market Swine, Potatoes, Onions, Pumpkins, Bee Keeping and Woodworking. Brianna is an astounding woodworker and has won 1st place and Best in Show in many of her exhibition classes at the Wayne County Fair.

She has also exhibited numerous of her woodworking items at the Pennsylvania Farm Show and has won 1st in her class as well as Best in Show for her age group at least two years in a row. Brianna’s goal in the 4-H woodworking project is to make her own complete bedroom set.

A few of the items she has completed so far include: two book shelves, nightstand, hope chest and a Queen size bed (head and foot board). Keep an eye out for Brianna’s dresser she will be making for her 4-H project this year! It will be on display at the Wayne County Fair August 3rd-11th in the Red Metal Building with the other Open and 4-H non-livestock displays.
