BETHANY — The Bethany Collective and Bethany Public Library celebrate soup weather with Soup-er Sunday, their fifth annual soup sale, on Sunday, February 25 from 11 to 2:30 p.m. in the Bethany Community Room upstairs from the library, located at 8 Court St.

Choose from among homemade soups like broccoli cheddar, chicken noodle or chicken tortellini, ham and bean, hot beef borscht, Manhattan clam chowder, potato leek, organic turkey vegetable, tomato Tuscany, Tuscan sausage and bean, vegetarian minestrone, chili and more.

Eat in for $3 a bowl (two for $5) or take home a quart of soup in a Mason jar for $10. Walk in, or order ahead by calling 570/253-5573 (leave your name, phone number and first, second and third soup choices) to make sure your favorite soup doesn’t sell out before you arrive.

To accompany your soup purchase a homemade quick bread; choices include corn bread, pumpkin bread, zucchini bread and other baked goods.

All proceeds benefit Bethany Public Library; The Bethany Collective, a volunteer organization working for the beautification and preservation of Bethany Borough, the restoration of the historic bandshell in the park; and the Bethany Historical Society.
