WHMS Students Compete in Cupcake Contest to Raise Money for California Fire Victims

Seventh grade Family and Consumer Sciences students at Wayne Highlands Middle School were busy competing in their own version of "Cupcake Wars" the week before Christmas Break.

The students baked and designed cupcakes using supplies donated by faculty members and their families.

The winning cupcake was designed by Makayla Breidenstein, Anna Coar, Tia Daniels, and Emma Weist.

The remaining cupcakes were sold at a bake sale during student lunches.

The $126.25 raised by the bake sale was donated to an ongoing fundraiser, School Supplies Drive which was started by 6th grade teachers Linda Zimmer and Lesley Freer.

The fundraiser hopes to raise money for school supplies for a California School & families that were devastated by the recent wildfires.
