WAYNE COUNTY — The Wayne/Pike Farm Bureau is pleased to announce that Daisy Dix is the District 1 nominee for PA Farm Bureau's “Outstanding Woman in Ag” award.

Daisy's commitment to agriculture spans nearly six decades, beginning in 1961 when she and husband Ellis started their farming operation.

Their contribution to Wayne county's dairy industry continues today with their 102 Registered Holstein and Brown Swiss cattle.

The Dix farm is considered one of the best in the county, producing quality milk day after day.

At 76 years young, Daisy continues to be in the barn at 2:30 AM to feed calves, clean the milkhouse, and tend to all the other daily farm tasks that need her special touch.

A strong advocate for 4H, Daisy has hosted 4H Exchange students from all over the country as well as the world.

All of her children and four of her grandchildren have successfully completed their years in 4H, due to her unending support and hard-working example.

Daisy also makes time to volunteer in the community.

Once each week, she reads books to
children at a local daycare. She makes comfort pillows for surgical patients at the hospital with a local church group.

She has also been a member of the United Methodist Women, the church choir, the library board and a girl scout leader.

With no end to her dedication and talent, Wayne/Pike Farm Bureau congratulates Daisy Dix on her nomination for “Outstanding Woman in Ag.”
