Holiday Craft Show is the finale to a wonderful "Salute to Veterans" football halftime show season.

While most children and youth have started making their Christmas lists, many Honesdale High School Band Members have been making a list of another kind - a work list for the upcoming HHS Band Craft Show on Saturday, November 11th.

Head Drum Major Stephanie Matlaga says, "In doing this craft show, we are able to go on amazing trips, such as the Taxslayer Bowl last December, and make memories that will last a lifetime.

“The funding from our past craft shows have allowed a group of our size to make this trip such a success, and will continue to benefit us as we share our music in different places."

The Craft Show helps provide additional funds that are utilized in support of the Instrumental Music program at Honesdale High School.

According to Junior

Drum Major, Emma Messersmith, "The Craft Show is especially beneficial to the drum majors because it helps cover the cost of sending them to the George M. Parks Drum Major Academy (DMA) every summer.

“DMA helps the drum majors prepare for new leadership positions in the band."

The students in conjunction with the HHS Band Parents, join together to make this their single largest fundraising event of the year.

There will be over 100 talented local area craft vendors throughout the Honesdale High School and the Wayne Highlands Middle School on Saturday, November 11, from 10 to 3.

There is a $3 donation at the door, plus food, raffle baskets and door prizes, that help to make this such a successful event every year.

Senior drum Major Kirsten Gager says, "I always look forward to the craft show.

“It's nice to see the community come together to support not only the vendors who attend, but the marching band as well.

“The craft show allows us to participate in some amazing events that would otherwise be financially out-of-reach. To receive this support from the community is appreciated beyond words."

The Honesdale High School Band is honored to pay tribute to all Veterans of the Armed Forces with their football half-time show!

The craft show, being held on Veterans Day, will also be honoring all who have serve and invite all veterans and their families to join us in saying a special 'Thank You!'
