HONESDALE — The 9th annual Baer Harley-Davidson Victory “Ride for the Cure” Multiple Sclerosis Poker Run was held on Sunday, June 25th.
Hundreds of motorcycles gathered for a spectacular run through the tri-State area sponsored by Baer Harley-Davidson Victory Polaris, Jim & Sophia Sisco, Honesdale Harley Riders/H.O.G. Motorcycle Club, Winding Roads Victory Riders Motorcycle Club, Harmony Lodge #8, and Combined Energy Services. Sign-up was in two locations at Baer in Honesdale, PA and at Harmony Lodge #8 in Andover Township, N.J.
The ride ended at the beautiful facility of Sparrowbush Main St. Fire House, Sparrowbush, N.Y.
Trophies and a cash prize were awarded for the top three poker hands.
All participants then enjoyed a wonderful meal provided by Prime Time Meats from Milford, PA (served by C.E.S. employees and family members of Dingmans Ferry office and Pike County United Women), live music by R.E.N.O. and musical guests, vendors, raffles, and 50/50.
A special thank you goes out to Alexis Wesp, John Dennis, Adam Bonadona, Honesdale Harley Riders/H.O.G., Hamlin Hawgs, Christian Motorcycle Association, Blue Knights PA Chapter #26, and all who helped make our “Ride for the Cure” for Multiple Sclerosis such a huge success including major contributors Wayne Venezia, and Everett Abicht who donated his 50/50 winnings back, culminating in an amazing $14,000 donation.
We couldn’t have done this without the tremendous efforts by Jim and Sophia Sisco in collecting monetary and gift basket donations, Dorothy & Jay Meddaugh for the many baskets, and for all of the help and participation from Poker Stop Card Attendants, 50/50 sellers Karen Reome and Joani Bailey, and to Vanessa, Macey, Julie, Kim, Nellie and Sherry for running the Chinese Auction.
Thank you also to Stateline Golf Carts for the use of their units, and to Tommy Bosch of Four Seasons Rental for providing tents and chairs.
Please join us for next year’s event to be held on June 24, 2018 ending at Sparrowbush Main Street Fire House in Sparrowbush, N.Y.
