Bethany –The Bethany Collective proudly presents "Spooky Movie in the Park,” starting at dusk, Saturday night, on October 7.

The evening will begin with a couple of Halloween-themed cartoons starting around 7 p.m. Then it’s on to the the main feature, FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE (PG) 1974.

“The film is an anthology from the British Company Amicaus, purveyors of great spooky movies from the 1960s and 70s,” said Chris Peroni, host of the evening.

“This particular film that we’re showing comprises four short terrifying tales that revolve around a 'Karma' dealing antique shop and its creepy owner, played by veteran actor, Peter Cushing.”

Mr. Peroni, a former professional screenwriter of horror films, has long had an interest in the genre of spooky movies. “This is one off Amicus’s best films,” he said, “and the stories are sure to give you the chills!”

The movie will be shown in the Bethany Borough Park, located three miles north of Honesdale on Route 670. Snacks will be provided by the Bethany Historic Society.

The movie is free, but donations are kindly accepted to continue the restoration of the Bethany bandshell.

The Bethany Collective is an organization dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the Borough of Bethany through funding special projects and supporting the Bethany Public Library and the Bethany Historical Society.

“Bring blankets and someone you love to snuggle-up with - just make sure they’re breathing!” said Mr. Peroni.
