SALEM TWP. — Pennsylvania State Police, Honesdale, are investigating a burglary in Salem Township.
According to a release, an actor – or actors – arrived on scene and “...forcefully gained entry by smashing the front doors” of the Kwik Joes on 496 Hamlin Highway.
After gaining entry, the perpetrators wrapped a chain around an ATM machine and attempted to rip it out of the front of the store.
They were unsuccessful and fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Police said Thursday they have identified a dark, blue colored rear bumper recovered from the scene just after the attempted theft.
According to the release, the bumper is from a 1989-1996 Buick Century.
The license plate attached to the vehicle was reported stolen from Scranton prior to the incident.
