HARRISBURG – Garth LaBar, of Honesdale, received a scholarship award at the Scholarship Foundation Awards Ceremony at the 2017 Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg.

Giannelli presented LaBar with a certificate of recognition from the senator.

LaBar, a freshman studying nuclear engineering at Penn State University, was one of 28 students to receive a $3,500 scholarship this year.

The Pennsylvania Farm Show Scholarship Foundation awards scholarships to young people who are registered in a post-secondary educational institution and who have exhibited at the Farm Show.

To be chosen, students must exhibit leadership qualities and excellent academic performance, according to the foundation.
