REGION — The Greene-Dreher Historical Society recently welcomed Louis Palazzi, Jr. of Palazzi Landscape Gardening as our newest Business Partner to participate in the Society’s mission to promote, protect, and preserve the history of Greene and Dreher Townships.
As a 2017 business partner, Palazzi Landscape Gardening and other local businesses will provide financial support to the Society, and at the same time, enhance their visibility with the membership, program participants, and museum visitors.
In 2017 Palazzi Landscape Gardening of Newfoundland will celebrate its 100th year. It is the third oldest landscape company in the country.
Founded in 1917 by Augusto Palazzi in New London Connecticut, the business relocated to Dunmore in 1921.
The company is now owned by Louis Palazzi, Jr., an ASHS Certified Horticulturist and author of several articles in professional journals.
He is aided by his son Richard, a graduate of Wallenpaupack High School, and the fourth generation of his family to work in the business.
The Greene-Dreher Historical Society maintains a museum in the Peggy Bancroft Hall, an historic building in South Sterling.
The Society and its Business Partners will sponsor a full calendar of programs at the hall in 2017 that are free and open to the public.
