How beautiful the flowers on the trees and bushes are this year. The month of May is finally here and so are the dandelions. Did you know the blanched leaves have been recommended as a winter salad, and the roots are eaten as such by the French. Its root has been used to adulterate coffee in a similar way to chicory. Even though they spread far and wide by the wind, you've got to admit if you look close, they are a pretty bright yellow flower.

Handy hint: Great expectations! As soon as you know a friend is expecting a baby, start a scrapbook of current events. Fill it with clippings of new headlines, fashion photos, food and movie ads, pictures of cars and famous people. The final page can be left for the front page of the newspaper on the day the baby is born. For the father-to-be, give a waiting-room kit.
Fill a box with change for the telephone, telephone numbers of close relatives and friends, cigars, gum, lighter, his favorite magazine, and whatever else you can think of to keep him busy.

Joke for this week: Among a group of tourists traveling Ireland, one woman was constantly complaining. The bus seats were uncomfortable; the food was terrible; the weather was too hot; the weather was too cold; the hotels were awful -to her mind, everything was wrong.
When the group arrived at the site of the famous Blarney Stone, the tour guide said: "Good luck will be following you all your days if you kiss the Blarney Stone. But unfortunately it's being cleaned today and so no one will be able to kiss it. Perhaps we can come back tomorrow."
"We can't be here tomorrow," moaned the unpleasant woman. "We have some other boring tour to go on. So I guess we can't kiss the stupid stone."
"Well now," said the guide, "it is said that if you kiss someone who has kissed the stone, you'll have the same good fortune. "
"And I suppose you've kissed the stone?" sneered the woman. "No, ma'am," replied the guide, beginning to lose his patience with her, "but I have sat on it!"
Keep Smiling!
