Here’s a roundup of parades, fireworks and other special events in the Wayne County area, meant to mark the 4th of July, Independence Day.
Parades

Fireworks
July 3rd:
• Honesdale from Irving Cliff, about 9 p.m. Rain date: July 5.
• Lake Ariel, from the beach, about 9 p.m. Rain date: July 6.
• Carbondale, 9:30 p.m.
July 4th:
• Lake Wallenpaupack, near the high school, about 9 p.m. Rain date: July 5.
• North Pocono High School, Moscow, 9:30 p.m. Rain date: July 5.
• Narrowsburg Bridge at Lander’s Campground, Narrowsburg, NY, about 9 p.m.
July 5th:
• Peckville Assembly of God Church, 3364 Scranton/Carbondale Hwy, Rt. 6, at 8 p.m.
Concerts, ceremonies, picnics
• After the parade in Pleasant Mount, Saturday, July 4, there is a patriotic ceremony at the park and other events.
• An Independence Day celebration in Honesdale starts at 5:30 p.m., Friday, July 3, in Central Park, Honesdale. Music by The Gypsy Jazz Quintet, Doug Smith and His Dixiland All-Stars, The Crystal Band at 8 p.m., and fireworks to conclude the day. Rain date is July 6 at 5:30 p.m.
• Friday, July 3- Sunday, July 5: Firemen’s Picnic, fire house grove, Crestmont Drive, Newfoundland. Live entertainment featuring: The McWilliams Brother’s Band. Menu includes: clams, corn, chicken, burgers, fries, hot dogs, pizza, clam chowder and much more. Call 499-3220 for information.
• The Fourth of July celebration in Carbondale will be held on July 3rd with baseball, art, music & fireworks. A Historic Baseball Memorabilia Display opens at 3:30 p.m. in the Carbondale Historical Society (third floor of City Hall). The art exhibit will be on display from 3:30 to 8 p.m. and fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.
• Saturday, July 4, after the parade at 3 p.m. in Narrowsburg, there will be a chicken barbecue at the fire house, vendors and live music. The fire department and the Narrowsburg Chamber of Commerce also hosts “Cruizen Narrowsburg”, 4 to 8 p.m., with antique and classic vehicles. The day concludes with fireworks.
