Moles invade!
Moles are another big problem in the gardens and lawns. We have some and they loosen up the soil, then the soil dries out quickly, that's when I notice the moles have been there as the plants begin to wilt. They eat earthworms and insects.
They use their strong forelegs with broad, trowel-like claws to dig and push the soil as they move through the ground. Although they do not feed on plants or roots, they often loosen the soil around plant roots as they search for earthworms and grubs. Their tunnels are often used by other rodents that may damage plant roots. The solution is to tamp down the soil around wilted plants, water them thoroughly, and shade them until they recover. Because moles seldom eat the roots, the damage is usually temporary. Trap moles by setting spear-type traps over active surface runs. Locate active runs by tamping down the ridges in a few spots. Spots that are raised again the next day are active.

Handy hint: Car Cues!
For neater car washes all you need are two buckets of water and three Turkish towels. Put soapy water in one bucket, clear water in the other. Start with the roof and work your way down, one section at a time. Use one towel and soapy water to wash, the second towel and clear water to rinse, and the third towel to dry. You'll end up with a clean, dry car instead of a mess.
On hot, sunny days, wash and wax your car in the shade or at dusk. This will prevent streaking.
A dust-mop head, worn as a mitten, is great for spreading suds and loosening grime.
Sprinkle a tablespoon of cornstarch on the wipe rag when buffing your car and excess polish will come off easily.
Or, for a glittering final finish to a newly waxed car, spray it down with cold water, then towel-dry it.
Give windows and chrome a super shine by polishing with newspaper.

Joke for this week:
After losing another tooth, seven-Year-old Billy became even more curious about the elusive tooth fairy. Finally putting two and two together, he came right out and asked his mother:
"Mom, are you the tooth fairy?"
Thinking that he was now old enough to hear the truth, she confessed: "Yes, I am."
Billy thought about this revelation for a moment and then said: "So how do you get into the other kids' houses?"
Keep Smiling!
