Once again, the place to be this July 4th will be in the quaint village of Pleasant Mount located in the beautifut mountains of Northern Wayne County.

Adriana Squatrito and Kevin Michael Duda were married June 1, 2007 at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Honesdale, Pa.

Readers have been able to comment on stories for some time now. That
feature has sparked some lively debate and allowed greater interaction

Carly Lynn Muniz, daughter of Nichole Roberts and Carlos Muniz, was born on June 2, 2008, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, Pa.

May 17, 2008 was the wedding date for Evelyn Batzel of Honesdale, and Thomas Lippert, of Honesdale. They were wed at the Honesdale Golf Club, officiated by Mayor Ann Morgan.

Honesdale High School Class of 2009 advisors, Mr. Ron Rowe, Mrs. Nancy Fritz an Mr. Richard Roberts announced that the Class of 2009 is hosting the Junior-Senior Prom on Saturday, May 17 at the Genetti Manor in Dickson City. The Prom begins at 4 p.m. with picture taking, followed by a sit-down dinner and then dancing until 10 p.m. Music is provided by DJ Nicky Nick. Principal James Rodda will crown the 2008 Prom King and Queen. The theme is King Midas’s Court.

Father Edward K. Erb, center, was installed as the new rector of Grace Episcopal Church, Honesdale, on May 1. At far left is the Venerable Howard Stringfellow, Archdeacon of the Diocese of Bethlehem. Behind Father Erb are former Grace Church rectors Father Michael J. Fill and Father F. Graham Cliff. At right is Father Donald Shearer, who was emcee for the service at which the Rt. Rev. Paul V. Marshall, Bishop of the Diocese of Bethlehem, officiated. Father Erb has been serving at Grace Church since Jan. 1. He previously was rector of St. John's Episcopal Church, Hamlin.

A special birthday celebration was held for Mildred Tyler who turned 103 on April 25, 2008.

Celebrating her 100th birthday at Bethany Village on Friday, resident Ruth Havens said the best part was being with good friends. Seated by her side was her kid sister and roommate, 96-year-old Virginia.
