The proceeds from a yard sale today and Saturday in Honesdale will help a local middle school student attend the prestigious National Young Leaders State Conderence in Harrisburg this fall.
The yard sales is being held today and Saturday at 102 Shady Lane in Honesdale. Sarah will also be face painting a selling baked goods at the street festival and sidewalk sale held July 24-26 in Downtown Honesdale.
Sarah Decrotie of Honesdale was selected to attend the conference based on her scholastic achievement and leadership potential.
Sarah was nominated for the program by Christine Weigand, a teacher at Wayne Highlands Middle School.
The fall conference is a four-day program that focuses on eight core leadership power tools, according to the organizers. Those are communication, conflict resolution, decision making, goal setting, group dynamics, leadership techniques, project management and self-awareness.
