HONESDALE -

Do you know a person who has made a tremendous difference in the life of a child? A caregiver who has dedicated his or her life to giving children the best start possible? An education professional who has raised the bar on what can be accomplished in a school setting (through second grade)? A person who gives his or her all to make sure children can be all they can be?
Banquet October 2
If you know a person dedicated to the Wayne County Children’s Coalition’s tenet of “happy, healthy children who love to learn,” the coalition wants to hear from you. The group will be honoring an individual recognized as “Care Giver of the Year,” and another receiving the “Lifetime Achievement Award for Service to Children” at their annual Early Care and Education Professional’s Recognition Dinner on October 2, 2008 at Bennoco’s in Hamlin.
Tell the Coalition about the person you feel should be honored as “Caregiver of the Year.” This individual must be an early childhood professional (child care director, teacher, teacher’s aide, support staff or family/group child care provider caring for children ranging in age from infant to second grade.) They must have worked in the field for at least five years, be currently employed in one of the above-listed positions and live/work in Wayne County.
Tell the Coalition about an individual you feel has earned the “Lifetime Achievement Award for Service to Children.” This individual may be a provider of early child care services, but this also includes public officials, medical professionals, agency personnel, business leaders and others who serve the needs of children. They must have worked in a child-related field for a minimum of 20 years, demonstrate leadership in improving the quality of life for children in our community and live/work in Wayne County.
