Deadly Weekend On Area Roadways

It was a deadly weekend on roadways across the area.  The first crash occurred Saturday night around 8 o’clock on Little Keen Road in Clinton Township.  Police say a truck was going at an apparent high rate of speed when the driver lost control and struck a tree.  Nineteen year-old Jamie Lynady, forty-six year-old Mark Slick and forty-seven year-old Timothy Duffy, all of Carbondale, were all thrown from the truck.  Lynady was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital were he was pronounced dead.  Slick and  Duffy were flown to CMC.  No word on their conditions or who was driving the truck.  The second crash occurred around the same time in Dingman Township.  Forty-nine year-old Thomas Gokay of Milford was traveling on Gold Key Road in Gold Key Estates on an ATV when he lost control and struck a stone wall.  Gokay was thrown from the quad.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.  Gokay was not wearing a helmet.  Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact State Police at Blooming Grove.

The third crash took place on Route 106 in Fell Township early Sunday morning.  Police say twenty-two year-old Joseph Warrick of Greenfield Township and twenty-one year-old Danielle Hess of Simpson were riding a motorcycle when they collided head-on with a truck being driven by fifty-four year-old Albert Morgan of Carbondale.  Police say both vehicles crossed the centerline.  Warrick and Hess were both pronounced dead at the scene.  Morgan was not injured.  A fourth crash in Great Bend, Susquehanna County, also claimed the lives of a Windsor, NY man and an unidentified twenty-four year-old man late Saturday night.
