Berlin Township joined the Upper Delaware Council (UDC), Tuesday night. The unanimous decision of the Board of Supervisors makes Berlin the second Wayne County municipality fronting the Delaware River, to join the UDC this year following Damascus Township.
The UDC, based in Narrowsburg, NY, is a partnership of river-front municipalities and the states of New York and Pennsylvania, charged with the oversight of the Riiver Management Plan for the Upper Delaware Scenic & Recreational River, a component of the National Park Service. In the 20 year history of the UDC, only Wayne County's eastern townships were missing at the table, which has full representation from their counterpart townships in Pike County and the NY towns in Delaware, Sullivan and Orange counties. Manchester and Buckingham townships, in Wayne County, are the last two that have not chosen to participate. MORE TO FOLLOW
