4 Car Crash on Sunrise Avenue Saturday

On September 24, 2011 at 10:14A.M., the Honesdale Police Department. was called to Sunrise Ave at Sunrise Market for a report of a 4 car crash, with a vehicle into a structure.
The crash happened as a 1996 Chevrolet Suburban being operated by 20 year old Daniel Rawlins of Honesdale, turned into the path of a 2008 Ford F550 Lumber truck being operated by 28 year old Michael Herzog, of Honesdale.
After colliding with the Chevrolet Suburban the Lumber truck collided with a legally parked 2005 Chevrolet Pickup truck.
The Chevrolet Pickup was then pushed into a legally parked 2006 Volvo sedan. The Volvo sedan was pushed into the front of Sunrise Market, causing damage to the front of the building.
Both Rawlins and Herzog were taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.
Honesdale EMS, Wayne EMS and Honesdale Fire Department and the PA State Police assisted at the scene. Ptlm. Rosler and Ptlm. Hankinson investigated.
Main Street crash and Hit and Run
The Honesdale Borough Police responded to an accident at the intersection of 11th and Main Street on Friday September 23rd. According to police, a vehicle driven by Robert Pace, 73 from Honesdale, made a left from 11th Street onto Main Street and collided with a vehicle driven by a, 16 year old female from Lake Como, who was driving south on Main Street. According to police, both vehicles were damaged, but no one was injured.
The Honesdale Borough Police are investigating a hit and run accident that occurred at the intersection of 12th and Main Streets.
According to police a silver truck, unknown make or model, struck a fire hydrant at the corner of 12th and Main near the China Castle.
After striking the hydrant, the vehicle fled the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Honesdale Borough Police at 253-1900.
