  • You've probably seen the infomercials for Insanity, which is billed as "the hardest workout ever put on DVD." Upon meeting someone who actually does this beast of a workout, you also probably have lots of questions, comments, and concerns you'd like to voice to them. However, below are 18 things that should never come out of your mouth when you're talking to people who do Insanity, both out of consideration for them and for your safety. Remember, these people have spent two months learning how to pack a punch and jump higher than your face. 1. "It doesnít seem that hard." [protected-iframe id="a519105a612ad0fa329ce0c7ad636d04-41469694-66786658" info="//giphy.com/embed/FgIDhHQjj4deU" width="500" height="319" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen="" mozallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen=""] Iím sorry, but youíre a little insane to think that, my friend. Wanna try it with me? No? Didnít think so. 2. "I could totally do Insanity if I wanted to." [protected-iframe id="d4f6bfae43206c2e2b5bce244d7970d4-41469694-66786658" info="//giphy.com/embed/XUNMB1MGrM8Pm" width="500" height="375" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen="" mozallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen=""] Not to be rude, but when the warning says Insanity is ďextreme,Ē ďnot for everyone,Ē and ďconsult your physician beforehand,Ē itís not kidding. 3. "Why are you eating so often? Arenít you doing this to lose weight?" [protected-iframe id="141af3c32bb6020d7e5a89b1fab79b3a-41469694-66786658" info="//giphy.com/embed/UjAOs63K3g01i" width="500" height="280" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen="" mozallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen=""] While weight loss is often a side effect of Insanity, the program is focused on improving overall fitness, particularly cardio strength. Some people even do it to try to gain muscle. 4. "Are you sure you burned off all of those calories?" [protected-iframe id="7d1d120192fdaaa2d6bfe1f9c5085ab7-41469694-66786658" info="//giphy.com/embed/10KpOGFaZNjqnK" width="500" height="254" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen="" mozallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen=""] Yes I am. Actual quote from the nutrition guide: ďWhen youíre digging into this ultra-extreme fitness regime, you canít go low-calorie or low-carb.Ē I didnít just burn off those calories, I torched them and then did a war dance around the bonfire. 5. "Donít be such a drama queen. It canít be that difficult." [protected-iframe id="7efac1606d66c46d58dd116de1084551-41469694-66786658" info="//giphy.com/embed/C6i044IOCne1y" width="500" height="279" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen="" mozallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen=""] I guess some people donít think that jumping for 40-60 minutes straight with only a few 30-second breaks is difficult, but Iím not one of them. 6. "Working out in a pool of your own sweat is so gross. I could never do it." [protected-iframe id="f59808c017736762ae02b7d3acb489f1-41469694-66786658" info="//giphy.com/embed/17bvpzBFFQ5Xi" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen="" mozallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen=""] In case you havenít noticed, we humans are a pretty disgusting species, between puking and pooping and giving birth and all that jazz. In fact, in the scheme of life sweat actually isnít that gross ó especially since sweat on its own doesnít actually smell. 7. "How it can it be 'the hardest workout ever put on DVD'? That seems like an exaggeration." [protected-iframe id="5e404892949b66b4b196ec8e55aa415c-41469694-66786658" info="//giphy.com/embed/15ddqrBmBRwsg" width="500" height="333" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen="" mozallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen=""] Okay, maybe ďthe hardestĒ canít quite be proven, but itís still pretty darn hard. 8. "Canít you just skip a day? Itís not that big of a deal." [protected-iframe id="3a721a7155f447ba928b1cc6275eeb07-41469694-66786658" info="//giphy.com/embed/GgSlRWjU3NjSU" width="500" height="270" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen="" mozallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen=""] Insanity is so hard that we never really ďfeelĒ like doing it. If we skip one day, we will probably start skipping every day. 9. "Why are you doing this to yourself?" [protected-iframe id="eeeecccfc9f63942887e60274d3bed65-41469694-66786658" info="//giphy.com/embed/720g7C1jz13wI" width="500" height="346" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen="" mozallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen=""] Um, because I want to become more fit and healthy. Also, since when did I have to account for my actions to you? 10. "You already look great! You donít need to do Insanity!" [protected-iframe id="42ef8bccfcc56aa56de9174e4aca27b8-41469694-66786658" info="//giphy.com/embed/VDAAZgS3QyUAo" width="500" height="316" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen="" mozallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen=""] We get that youíre trying to compliment us in a weirdly backhanded way, but seriously ó you donít decide what sort of workout we do or donít need to complete, we do. And when will you understand that Insanity isnít just about looks? 11. "Stop talking about Insanity. Youíre making the rest of us feel bad." [protected-iframe id="46a9a3271720a5d3d427bf5dceed4a6c-41469694-66786658" info="//giphy.com/embed/pHzwfWaFqXm6c" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen="" mozallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen=""] So let me get this straight: †I'm not allowed to feel proud of myself for all this hard work because you're don't feel the same way about yourself?   12. "I just canít justify spending that much time working out." [protected-iframe id="a538e506a95fe41028155fb4c95aa309-41469694-66786658" info="//giphy.com/embed/UKqO1krtoAF7G" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen="" mozallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen=""] Actually, Insanity is one of the most efficient workouts out there ó it never takes more than an hour a day, and the phase one workouts are even shorter than that. 13. "You're not supposed drink for two straight months?! How are we going to hang out?" [protected-iframe id="5334032e0961315749309e81cb4e471e-41469694-66786658" info="//giphy.com/embed/dpEn8XVfvtHmo" width="500" height="346" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen="" mozallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen=""] Idk, go to a movie or shopping or any of the other numerous social activities we human beings engage in besides imbibing alcohol? 14. "Have you lost weight yet?" [protected-iframe id="1e367031f80f87ca556385d6aba2cfb8-41469694-66786658" info="//giphy.com/embed/12N4g1aHI9SKd2" width="500" height="375" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen="" mozallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen=""] Please just stop. Iím getting more and more embarrassed for you every time you open your mouth. 15. "Aw, good for you, girl/bro!" [protected-iframe id="9be6560e1b6fa8f450b505ca610a693d-41469694-66786658" info="//giphy.com/embed/LRxugmH6BnAEE" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen="" mozallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen=""] It was encouraging the first time, but now that you've started saying every time I tell you about Insanity, it's beginning to feel really patronizing.   16. "Oh, so you're one of those fitness junkies." [protected-iframe id="bfe404ef7ec0a4ec7ee6824af5f85af9-41469694-66786658" info="//giphy.com/embed/xn12oFdfxLF7O" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen="" mozallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen=""] I wish you'd kick up the judgment another notch, because I'm not quite feeling it yet.   17. "I know youíre doing Insanity, but Ö" [protected-iframe id="a33ed554c32519c12cf7a10f6456532a-41469694-66786658" info="//giphy.com/embed/a4gLl8darNId2" width="500" height="278" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen="" mozallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen=""] The words ďInsanityĒ and ďbutĒ do not belong in the same sentence. Ever.   18. "You're crazy to do this!" [protected-iframe id="df3be0913465058d428af6a90d71d29d-41469694-66786658" info="//giphy.com/embed/m9xBNF76A2k00" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen="" mozallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen=""] Actually, we don't mind hearing this one so much ó just so long as you mean good crazy.
