  • I had a very enjoyable weekend. I went bowling on Saturday then caught a baseball game on Sunday.
It was the first baseball game I have gone to since 2009. It was also my first time seeing the Railriders.
I haven't seen that team play since they were called the Red Barons and were the Phllies' Triple A affiliate.
It was great to be able to go to a game again (even if they are now the Triple A team for the Yankees-gross).
We went to the game through a trolley excursion that is offered by the Trolley Museum Association at the Steamtown National Historic Site.
I never knew they did that, but it was really neat. One of Sean's friends told us about it in case we were interested.
So a group of us did the trolley excursion and were able to sit in the same section to enjoy the game.
The trolley ride was also turned into a history lesson and it was cool learning about different parts of the area as we rode up to the stadium. We even got to see one of the old coal mines.
Baseball is one of my favorite sports so I am up for seeing any kind of game.
We had great seats along the first base line and were really close to the field. We kept hoping that maybe, just maybe, one of us would be lucky to get a ball.
The game was interesting, even though it was scoreless for five innings. Sean and I even met Champ, the Railriders' mascot.
It was a good day for baseball. Even when dark clouds passed over, we only got a drizzle two different times.
The second seemed like it was going to turn into a downpour, but it was over within a minute or two.
We were all having a great time and it ended on a higher note after the Railriders defeated the Syracuse Chiefs 3-1.
I plan on doing the trolley excursion again. It was a really cool experience and is a nice start to the day when seeing a baseball game.
