  • The Wayne County Fair starts this Friday and there are many events taking place throughout the week.
One of the events I'm looking forward to is the Craig Campbell and Eric Paslay concert, taking place on Monday, Aug. 4 at 7:30 p.m.
I've said previously that music and writing are two things I would be lost without.
This concert is one I'm especially looking forward to for two main reasons: I love country music and I'm a big fan of the artists.
It's going to be a great show and I'm excited for what kind of crowd they're going to draw.
Craig and Eric aren't big names like Blake Shelton or the Rascal Flatts (yet), but they are up and coming artists you should definitely check out and keep an eye on.
If you like country music, I guarantee you'll like these guys.
They don't play songs that have the country stereotype of “me and my dog driving in my truck.” I know that's some of the reason there are people who don't like country music.
I'll admit it's not my first choice genre, but country music has a lot of feel good lyrics that can put you in a good mood and make you want to dance.
It really is no different than any other genre in that songs are about love, heartache, going through hard times and just having fun. It's how country music is played that makes it different.
I actually became a fan of Eric and Craig by accident. I was listening to 98.1 The Hawk, a country station out of Binghamton, NY, at the right time.
First I heard Eric's big hit, “Friday Night,” and was immediately a fan. The first song I heard from Craig was “Keep Them Kisses Comin,'” which is very catchy.
When I saw they were coming to the Wayne County Fair I was excited. I've already started making my list of songs I hope Craig and Eric will play.
I highly recommend you check them out and come to the show next week.
