 Teachers at the Manchester Community Library in Equinunk have devised an innovative, one-week program to aid children returning to school in the fall.

A Basic Skills program will be presented in a review workshop from Aug. 4 to 8, 10 a.m. to noon.

This free program is for elementary school students who have completed kindergarten. Sign up deadline is July 30.

Please bring the child who is being enrolled to the library for a brief introduction on a Wednesday, from 4 to 7 p.m. or on a Saturday morning, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Two certified teachers plus other volunteers will work on basic study, math, and phonics skills to help give your student a good beginning to the coming school year.

Methods will include hands-on activities, computer activities, and ideas for parents to implement at home.
