PLEASANT MOUNT - The Pleasant Mount Community Center (PMCC) held its board meeting on July 14, 2014 meeting, from 7:00pm to 8:00pm.
In attendance were: Bill Woodward, President; Charlie Schaefer, Secretary; Albert Wildenstein, Township Supervisor; Francis Nebzydoski, Township Supervisor; Phil Eltz, Township Supervisor: Ron Skubic, Lisa Scotch, and Stephanie Frisbie.
Items discussed are as follows:
Michelle Urban provided the following before the meeting:
PMCC checking is $2329.41
Money from the fundraiser is $2403.20
Township Account is $3797.22
Shirt Sales at the 4th of July Parade was $781
Various donations were made by organizations that have used PMCC
The Board of Elections have corresponded that the PMCC gym will be the polling place for the next election.
4th of July Parade was again a success. More help is needed for set up and tear down for future parades.
A handout with sponsors can help in raising money for the community center.
Estimates are in progress to convert the boiler from heating oil to propane.
Grant monies are being held up for the roof renovation which should be released in the next 3 or 4 months. 2014 Grant request has not been issued as of yet.
Eagle Scouts are making progress on the ball field, the front entrance and windows Bill Woodward is pursuing funds for Senior Citizens use of the PMCC.
The Township Supervisors stated that we will be approximately $5000 short to heat the PMCC through the next winter and recommended closing the PMCC for three months to save on the cost of fuel.
Subsequent discussion recommended that PMCC would pay the difference to the township for fuel bill.
It was recommended that a proposition to raise the millage from 2 mils to 4 mils for the PMCC be added to the election ballot for a vote by the township electorate.
PMCC will draft the language for township approval.
Subsequent discussion resulted in the following action items:
Lisa Scotch will check with NEP to see if we can have a reduced rate for electric
Stephanie Frisbie will check with PPL to see if the phone and internet bill can be reduced
Lisa Scotch and Bill Woodward will research other grant money opportunities
The Boy Scout trip from St. Croix was discussed:
It was agreed that 3 debit cards be issued for Michelle Urban, Ron Skubic and Bill Woodward
Winter clothing and shoes can be denoted by contacting the PMCC as they will be arriving in December. There will be 20 Boys ages 11 to 16 and 20 adults.
The next PMCC Board meeting is Monday, August 11, 2014, all from the Community are invited to attend.
