STARRUCCA –  A search party was assembled Sunday night at the Northern Wayne Fire Company to look for a missing woman.

 Susan Ward, 64, of Starrucca, has been missing since Saturday morning.

“She went missing 7:30 a.m. on July 19,” said Duane Kerzic of Northeast Search and Rescue Sunday night.

Kerzic said that “about 30 people” searched for Ward. A canine search unit was also on scene for the day. The King Hill Road resident has been missing since July 19.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Honesdale, Ward is 5'2” tall with blue eyes and short blonde, curly hair. She was last seen wearing a purple top.

Emergency response teams included the Northern Wayne Fire Company, Thompson Hose Company, Amigo Search and Rescue, Pocono Search and Rescue, Eagle Valley Search and Rescue, Ledgewood Dive Team and many community volunteers.

Kerzic said Ward was last seen walking north on King Hill Road. “We don't know much about why she went missing,” he explained. He added that there is no evidence of foul play at this time.
